Let Go
Let Go is an emotive ballad “set to raise the hairs on the back of your neck…powerful vocal possession and divine string arrangements whilst simultaneously being drawn into Francesca’s inner-world with the honesty and vulnerability revealed in the lyrical content” (O’Connell, 2018). Written as part of I Heart Songwriting Club, where members are given a songwriting task and 1-hour to write their song, Let Go was Francesca’s response to the theme ‘approval’ with the additional guideline of writing a melody within the range of a 5th. This particular week was an unusual experience for Francesca as she had lost her voice but a simple workaround to maintain her songwriting practice meant she wrote her melody on the piano and lyrics separately. It was only six weeks later, after encouragement from the I Heart Songwriting Club community, that Francesca tried the song out with her voice. It was then she recognized the magic of Let Go.
Also an artistic collaboration between conceptual photographic artist, Kellie North, a series of 3 stunning photographic images were created for this release (see below lyrics for more).
Luscious string arrangements by Francesca, epic production values by Nick O’Donnell and a stunning music video directed by Daryl Lee Irvine glorifies Francesca’s creative vision with this epic female power ballad, Let Go.

Lyrics
It’s no coincidence that I have lost my voice
Already been a week of silence
I know I heard you thinking the choice you made was wrong
I close my mouth to hear you say it
Rejection is real
The mystery feels like trust was a circumstance defying our best-laid plans
The memories seek the love that I keep but don’t wanna hold on to
But if I let go then I let go of you
This love with no conditions valuable to me
Had to risk a greater sorrow
Who doesn’t want approval or feel security
I wanted it, I needed it
Rejection is real
The mystery feels like trust was a circumstance defying our best-laid plans
The memories seek the love that I keep but don’t wanna hold on to
But if I let go then I let go of you
Harmony will heal the wounded
